Hi, I’m Ahsan Farooq Khan, a physician and a senior clinical fellow in dermatology. My journey into the world of skincare is fascinating.
Growing up, I was always curious about the human body and how it worked. So, as a child, I would always ask a million questions about every rash, scrape, or blemish. I had no idea that these inquiries I had would later propel me into a career as a dermatologist.
As I entered college, I found myself drawn to the field of medicine as I was captivated by the idea of helping people have healthier and flawless skin.
After becoming a doctor, I felt that it was extremely important for me to pursue post-graduation. I studied very hard for the entrance exam and luckily passed it. To become a dermatologist, one has to first complete the residency in internal medicine and pass the exam. Hence, after applying to a couple of institutions, I was lucky enough to get a residency in internal medicine. During my residency in internal medicine, it is mandatory to do a two-month rotation in dermatology. I was really happy because this beach of medicine had always inspired me. Luckily, I am working in an institution where the daily turnover in a skin clinic crosses 300 in summer so I got to see a huge variety of patients. I got actively involved in treating the patients even though I was an internal medicine resident. Therefore, I first became an internist before I joined the field of dermatology.
I made the decision to pursue a career in dermatology after my rotation in dermatology. I was resolved to become a dermatologist who helped people feel good about their own skin in addition to treating skin issues. As a result, I am now capable of performing all fundamental and sophisticated dermatological operations, including electrocautery, cryotherapy, skin biopsies, intralesional injections, and all cosmetic procedures like PRP and mesotherapy, Botox and fillers, HiFU facials, and I have a special interest in treating the patients with all major kinds of lasers as well.
Being in this field, I have to stay updated and learn the latest technology so I can give my best to my patients. Given this, I have come across countless hair removal devices.
