Foreo Luna is a Swedish beauty tech brand owned by a Bosnian-born Swedish investor Filip Sedic. Their product line is all-encompassing as it offers cosmetics and beauty products ranging from facial cleansing brushes to microcurrent technological devices. The Luna device is their pioneer skincare gadget dedicated solely to exfoliating and anti-aging facial massagers. The device employs its patented T-Sonic technology, which pulses 8,000 times during each use, helping to remove up to 99 percent of makeup and exfoliating dead skin.

With this little background story, we can now proceed with comparing both types of Luna products.

Design

Now think about a company that pays special attention to details and there is Foreo. As a confirmation, you would observe that the silicone bristles present on one side of the brush are easy to clean and has anti-bacterial protection. To cap it all, the Luna 4 device is gentle on the skin.

On the other side of the brush which has the massager, it is powered by a technology that simulates Gua sha . It has a very soft silicone with an elevated rippled texture to aid massaging. The vibrations are of a lower frequency and would do a perfect job of lifting and toning your skin.

Whilst the silicone bristle on the Luna 3 feels soft and silk, the bristle on the Luna 4 is softer and silkier. You could think of them like a very soft brush rather than a silicone pad. The Luna 4 has been clinically proven to have microcurrent and LED light therapy targeted at reversing skin aging signs including pigmentation and dullness. While the microcurrent helps to keep the skin firm and plump thereby reducing the visibility of wrinkles, the near-infrared LED light boosts collagen and elastin production, which restores the thickness and flexibility of young skin. Functions

The Luna 3 would do a perfect job of cleansing than other models released before it. It lasts longer and the brushes feel softer and give you more operating options than its predecessors. This additional feature can be enabled via the app, which gives you the chance to regulate the intensity levels and the massage features too.

Connectivity

For a first-timer, you would need to download the Foreo For You app and register your device on it. After a successful registration, turn on your BlueTooth on your phone and your device would connect automatically to the app if within a close connection range.

You wouldn’t be needing the app for your cleansing section; however, the app comes into play when you need to switch to using the massage treatments. The app is pretty easy to use and very direct to operate. However, if you still can’t find your way around using it, there is a video that explains everything you need to know about how to use and position the Luna 3 device on your face during the massage treatment. These are designed to target particular problem zones, such as shaping the jawline and de-plumping the under-eye area. Not to worry, the treatment only lasts for about 4 minutes.

How to use

Dampen your face and apply your desired cleanser to the device. For the best result, use a Micro-Foam Cleanser. Gently press the start button twice. For cleansing mode, press the Universal button once while for the Glow Boost mode, quick-price twice. Use the touch point in a circular motion and glide the device over your face till you get the beep sound which signifies that the timer is off. Then proceed to rinse your face using water and the device, then dry. All these are very easy to do and would take just about 90 seconds max.

Battery life

The battery of the Luna 3 is long-lasting and according to its manufacturers, a single charge can last for about 650 uses. However, for the Luna 4, you get a USB rechargeable with only 100 use per single charge.

Final note

If you wear makeup daily, there is every possibility that some of these product gets stuck beneath your skin even after cleansing and the accumulation of these products over time may clog your skin. That is why you need a deep cleansing device such as the Luna 3 or Luna 4 to help do the tough job of eliminating that dirt. We couldn’t have been more excited seeing that a device does that with so minimal effort.

Overall, in terms of its design, technology, and other features, we see a wide margin between the Luna 3 and 4 with the latter having a better rating score than the former, despite its price. Notwithstanding both devices bring their A-game in their silicone bristles. If you are price-conscious, you may have to look towards the Luna 3 but if you are about the comfort and result, without minding the price, then the Luna 4 will do.
